T20 Cricket

When PRG came to us a week before the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Final at Lord’s, the brief was clear. Deliver movable performance platforms for the pre-show, half-time and closing segments, and do it without leaving a mark on one of cricket’s most famous outfields.

Rather than build from scratch against the clock, we adapted stock we already hold, including the pneumatic wheel systems we keep for both aluminium and steel decks, so platforms could be rolled on and off the ground safely.

Fish O’Mania

Competitive fishing might not be the first sport people associate with broadcast infrastructure, but the build behind Fish’O’Mania demanded the same precision as any major sporting venue we work on. Our team was on site at Westwood Lakes in Boston, delivering the full event and broadcast infrastructure for Matchroom, with the competition airing on Sky Sports.

Thirteen water platforms sat out on the lake, each giving a competitor a level, secure base to fish from, and three camera towers were positioned around them to give Sky the elevated sightlines the coverage depended on. On land we installed the competitor boards, the stage and trussing backdrop for the presentation area, the fencing and pedestrian barriers, and the PA system that carried the klaxon marking the start and close of the match.

Building on and around water brings its own set of considerations, and a build like this one is exactly the kind of work our crew takes pride in.

World Matchplay Darts

The World Matchplay is one of the few televised tournaments held in a ballroom rather than an arena, which shapes how it gets built. At the Empress Ballroom in Blackpool, our team installed the main stage and walk on truss, camera platforms and camera tower, screen and projector trusses, lighting truss, commentary boxes and studio position.

Venues like this ask for a different level of care. The Empress Ballroom came long before live broadcast did, and its architecture is part of what makes the tournament special, so preserving it matters as much as the infrastructure going in. Getting that balance right lets the production and broadcasters cover the tournament properly while the venue still feels like the Empress Ballroom.
