World Championship Snooker

The World Snooker Championship once again returned to the iconic Crucible Theatre for one of the most prestigious tournaments in the snooker calendar.

This year, we were proud to support the event across the Crucible, Tudor Square and the Winter Gardens, delivering the broadcast and event infrastructure behind the scenes to help the championship run smoothly from initial build through to live event coverage and de-rig.

Working across multiple areas of the site, our team supported the creation of studios, broadcast positions, audience spaces and temporary event infrastructure that helped bring coverage of the tournament to audiences throughout the championship. From the atmosphere in Tudor Square to the live broadcast environment inside the arena, the project once again demonstrated the scale of coordination required to deliver a world-class sporting event.

Projects of this size rely on months of planning, preparation and collaboration, and we are incredibly proud of everyone involved in delivering another successful championship.

The Boat Race 🚣

The Boat Race remains one of the most iconic events in the British sporting calendar, and we were proud to support this year’s live broadcast delivery along the Thames.

Our team designed and installed a series of camera scaffold towers and platforms across the full course, supporting comprehensive broadcast coverage for the event. From cable bridge trussing and fly systems to bespoke camera and cable mounting solutions, every element was engineered to integrate seamlessly into the live production environment. Delivering an event of this size requires extensive coordination across multiple teams, locations and technical disciplines.

A special mention also goes to Mark McCaffery for leading the delivery on site. As Kirsty Cottle from Gravity Media shared: “Mark is now integral to The Boat Race and is always so helpful. Nothing seems to bother him and he always arrives with a positive attitude and a smile!”

Max’s Fundraising Challenge🏊🚴🏃

Our CAD Technician, Max Hayes, is taking on a triathlon in Geneva to raise money for Wings for Life Spinal Cord Research Foundation. He is taking on the challenge in support of a close friend who suffered a spinal cord injury last July, making the cause especially important to him.

It’s a significant challenge and a great effort for a cause that is driving vital research into spinal cord injuries. Some of you may also recognise Max from our social channels, where he has stepped in to cover for the marketing team, so it’s safe to say he is used to taking on a challenge.
